The Nokia E7, which has generated interested among smart users and mobile analysts, is to come up with the Communicator Mobile or CoMo solution developed by Microsoft Corporation. This is a touch-enabled option on the phone.

With a view to gaining an edge over its competitors, Nokia had entered into a tie-up with Microsoft in 2009 to develop and market mobile communications and collaboration solutions. Nokia began CoMo for its E52, E72 and E5 models from the middle of 2010.

This new release will give people on the go a touch-enabled communication experience.

“The vision for the Lync Mobile client for Nokia is to enable a natural, real-time conversation from anywhere,” said Mr Nagesh Pabbisetty, General Manager, Microsoft Business Division at Microsoft India (Research and Development) Private Ltd.

Microsoft's India Development Centre in Hyderabad has built the CoMo client for Nokia.

Lync is a new collaboration solution launched by Microsoft that allows people in a business organisation keep in touch, share documents and talk through video using multiple communication devices, including analog phones. The solution allows uninterrupted conversations as people switch from one communication mode to another.

Like in Lync, E7 users will be able to view their colleague's present status and communicate with them using their preferred modality such as instant messaging, e-mail or a phone call, at a single click. Just like missed calls in ordinary phones, people will have access to missed conversations allowing them to quickly get back to business ‘meetings'.
