Leading theatre chain PVR cinemas has partnered with social networking site Facebook and major studios in Hollywood to launch a collaborative digital ecosystem called PVR at Hollywood.
As social media continues to grow and be the sought-after destination among the youngsters for content consumption, PVR has identified the demand and supply gap in consumer content consumption space and create a single platform for Hollywood content.
PVR has tied up with Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Bros, Fox Star Studios, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures to provide them the needed marketing and community research and content.
Kamal Gianchandani, CEO - PVR Pictures and Chief Strategy Officer - PVR Cinemas said, “Recognising the gap between content availability and consumer demand, we are aiming to build a consolidated space of engagement/ consumption through this fresh yet unique proposition. We have joined hands with Facebook India and all major Hollywood Studios who have come ahead and offered their strategy in building this distinct digital ecosystem.”
Rudrarup Datta – Head of Marketing, Viacom18 Motion Pictures said, that over the years, consumption and popularity of Hollywood films in India has seen an exponential rise, both for the English language as well as the dubbed versions and the new platform will leverage the power and reach of social media and offer consumers a complete engagement experience with their favourite movies.
With about 2.5 lakh subscribers to start with on Facebook, the platform not only provides sneak-a-peak to the upcoming films but also hosts contests to build curiosity among the audience. The aim is to grow this engagement community to six-seven million active Hollywood movie-buffs in the coming months.
