Cross-category classifieds business Quikr has acquired Hiree, an online hiring platform focussed on white-collar jobs.

Founded in December 2013 by former Yahoo professionals Manjunath Talwar and Abhijit Khasnis, Hiree.com, which counts Wipro, TCS, Flipkart, Amazon, Pepperfry, OYO Rooms, Microsoft, IBM and Cognizant as its customers, will be merged with Quikr’s jobs vertical — QuikrJobs — and will operate out of Quikr headquarters in Bengaluru.

Hiree.com has over 1,000 paid customers and offers employers an active base of 5,00,000 white-collar jobseekers.

Combined with 35 lakh active profiles of blue-collar, grey-collar and entry-level jobs on QuikrJobs, it will strengthen Quikr’s offering of addressing the recruitment needs for the entire spectrum of job categories across industries.

Without disclosing the financial details of the acquisition, Pranay Chulet, founder and CEO, Quikr, said: “We launched QuikrJobs with an aim to bridge the gap between Bharat and India for the recruitment industry.

“We have created a successful business model there, and it’s now time to level-up. Speed is in our DNA and Hiree’s offerings aimed at shortening the time of recruitment cycle is a great match with that.”

Selfie resume To appeal to job-seeking millenials, Hiree had introduced a selfie resume feature last year, which allows its base of jobseekers to post one-minute selfie resumes, where they can introduce and talk about themselves for a minute.

“The selfie resume is an addition to the jobseeker’s word document resume, which employers can see to screen potential hires much better. Employers can also send a request to jobseekers to upload a one-minute selfie video answering 3-4 specific questions,” Abhijit Khasnis, founder COO, Hiree, had said in an earlier interaction with BusinessLine . Hiree had recently launched a walk-in management solution as well.

Last month, Quikr had reached a milestone of creating 10 lakh jobseeker profiles through its missed-called service.

This is in addition to profiles created via desktop and mobile phones, both for recruiters and jobseekers across full-time, part-time, work-from-home and even work-abroad options.
