With 43 million followers and 682 posts in 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ruled the social media last year. The PM, who is known to be very active on the social media, garnered a total of 86,295,424 likes, 1,914,929 comments and 3,149,848 shares. On the other hand, the data which was collected and analysed by CBScore revealed, recently elected President of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, too, became quite active on the social media during the Gujarat elections. Gandhi, who has over 15.6 lakh followers on social media, kept them engaged with 657 posts, with an average like number of 5,327 per post. Clearly, he needs to step up his game in 2018.

When it comes to cricket, it is the current captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, who slayed the social media. With more than 37 million followers on social media, Kohli remained the talk of the town due to his wedding to Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and a highly successful season of home cricket.

Former captain of the Indian team Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to achieve new heights on social media with a 20-million strong fan base on Facebook. Interestingly, captain cool’s 'like' score is not that far behind than the current Indian captain’s.

When it comes to social media, it is not possible that there is no mention of Bollywood. Priyanka Chopra kept her fans busy with 667 posts in 2017 with a total of 45, 621, 276 likes. The current heartthrob of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone, kept her 34 million followers engaged. She garnered an average of 83,768 likes, 1,444 comments and 1,111 shares per post. With an average of 39,228 likes and 1,380 comments per post, Anushka Sharma, too, created quite a buzz on social media. Shah Rukh Khan made sure that his 24-million-plus fans always had something to look forward to with 306 posts and an average of 122,094 'likes' per post.
