Twitter will shut down its newsletter platform Revue from next month. The microblogging site acquired Revue in January 2021. The platform helped writers monetise by integrating their newsletters directly into the Twitter timeline, competing with platforms like Substack and Medium.
“From January 18, 2023, it will no longer be possible to access your Revue account,” Martijn de Kuijper, founder of Revue, wrote in a post.

According to reports, Revue will cancel all paid subscriptions at the end of their billing cycle starting December 2020.
“We’re grateful to everyone who has used our service over the years, and hope we can continue to help you build a community with your readers on Twitter,” Kuijper wrote.
Meanwhile, Twitter is working to increase the character limit to 4,000 from 280. The microblogging site recently dissolved its advisory group Trust and Safety Council, formed in 2016 with 100 independent researchers and human rights activists. In an email to the council members, Twitter said, “We are reevaluating how best to bring external insights into our product and policy development work.”
