Subex has appointed Surjeet Singh as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. The appointment follows the resignation of Subash Menon, who had founded the company in 1992.

Subex is a provider of fraud detection software to telecom companies.

Singh, who was a nominee director on Subex board, was previously President of International Business at Glodyne DecisionOne. He had also worked with Patni Computer Systems as its Chief Financial Officer, Subex said in a statement.

“Given his outstanding entrepreneurial and leadership ability, we are confident that Subex will capture the latent opportunities and enhance its market leadership,” Sanjeev Aga, Independent Director at Subex, said.

On Friday, Subash Menon resigned as its MD and CEO as the company was grappling with mounting debt. However, he will continue as a non-independent director of the company.

Menon would focus on his start-up firm Kivar Environ, founded three years ago. Kivar Environ is a waste- and water management company, with more than Rs 100 crore in annual revenues.
