Synaptics, a Nasdaq-listed tech company, has launched a new centre and plans to hire 150 engineers.
The company, which already has a centre in Hyderabad employing around 150 engineers, develops technologies that can be used in personal assistant devices, mobile phones, cars, smart homes, among others.
The new centre in Bengaluru has 65 engineers and will work on software and firmware that goes into video applications, said Jean Boufarhat, Senior Vice President, Mobile Silicon Engineering, Synaptics. IP development in areas such as touch, display, voice, audio and multimedia products will be done out of Bengaluru, he added.
Synaptics has shipped its technologies in more than 4 billion devices, company executives said.
