Tech Mahindra Ltd, provider of solutions and services to the telecommunications industry, has acquired the assets and operations of Type Approval Lab in Lund, Southern Sweden.
This lab was earlier part of Sony Mobile Communication’s internal test function and will now help Tech Mahindra establish its first European test lab with multi-million dollar infrastructure.
Sirisha Voruganti, Chief Technology Officer, CanvasM, said: “The acquisition aligns with our vision to become the world’s number one lab with complete and customisable test solutions for original device manufacturers and platform vendors. The Lund facility will now provide us a strategic lab presence for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and for our customers looking to launch their products in the EU and rest of the world.’’
Bengt-Arne Molin, Senior Vice-President, said in a statement that the transfer of Type Approval Lab assets is a strategic move as the company continues to focus on its core competency of software development at the Lund centre.
This acquisition is in line with Tech Mahindra’s plans to lead the test space in the Nordic region. Tech Mahindra, along with its wholly owned subsidiary CanvasM Technology, has latest labs established in India and the US.
