Tech Mahindra Ltd has entered into the mobile gaming entertainment space with the launch of a mobile gaming live streaming platform — mSportz.tv, under its Growth Factory initiative.
mSportz is an integrated platform that allows users to view and broadcast mobile gaming content in real-time and showcase their skills with the mobile gaming community. mSportz App has a vision to entertain and connect the world’s mobile gaming community. Currently, the beta version of the App is available on Android and iOS.
Jagdish Mitra, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Growth Factories, Tech Mahindra, in a statement said, “The launch of mSportz is in line with the internal innovation and incubation initiatives of TechM Growth Factories. MSportz as a platform not only has an opportunity to go to customers directly but is a critical offering that our media and entertainment customers can use to reach out to the millennials and their affinity to e-sports which is growing exponentially.”
Tech Mahindra is eying mobile gaming entertainment as a huge opportunity area. Mobile gaming industry is a $29-billion market with over 1.5 billion people playing games daily. According to Digi Capital, the mobile gaming industry will surpass console gaming by 2018.
Under the mSportz umbrella, Tech Mahindra is keen to build an ecosystem around casual and competitive mobile gaming with leagues, tournaments, and professional teams.
By leveraging its in-house technology teams and industry partners, Tech Mahindra expects to build solutions for the mobile gaming world, which will support casual and professional-level gaming across different platforms and games.
India is a strategic market for Tech Mahindra and mSportz organised a Mobile Gaming Meet Up on February 6 titled mSportz 2016: Clash of the Gamers.
