The two-day August Fest here ended with over 4,000 representatives from the start-up ecosystem in the country taking part.
Five start-ups, including the Internet of Things service start-up (theioTsuitcase), delivery (shipninja) and breakfast delivery (The First Meal) start-up, pitched their ideas for investments towards the end of the event. Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the State government was coming out with a State Policy on Incubation and guidelines for App developers. It would also introduce a policy to procure certain goods and services from start-ups. “Our government is embarking on developing Telangana App for You. We are in the process of drafting Guidelines for App Developers and Development,” he said, addressing the event claimed to be the biggest start-up rendezvous in the country.
Bibop G Gresta, Deputy Chairman of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, made a presentation. Vani Kola, MD of Kalaari Capital, spoke on Building Billion Dollar Businesses. Music composer-entrepreneur Ramana Gogula announced he would mentor at least five start-ups from the event.
