Thomas Cook India announced on Friday its entry into the travel tech space with the acquisition of a 24 per cent stake in Mumbai-based TravelJunkie Solutions.
Ithaka, a chat-based mobile application developed by TravelJunkie and serving free individual travellers. It combines automation and real-traveller expertise to plan and book journeys.
Madhavan Menon, Chairman, Thomas Cook India Group, said: “For Thomas Cook, the partnership with Ithaka creates a new channel that reaches and serves millennials, while for Ithaka, it delivers an end-to-end, bookable experience. The business model resonates with the hybrid technology and personalisation approach of the Thomas Cook Group.”
