California-based IT services company UST Global unveiled its facility in Leela Info Park, Kochi. Mr Sajan Pillai, chief executive, inaugurated the complex.
Spread over an area of 34,000 sq. ft, the office is styled to the themes of speed, passion and courage to celebrate the company's partnership with the UK-based Formula-One team, Virgin Racing.
Mr Pillai said the company's offshore operations have always been centred around South Asia, which is a globally recognized hub of IT talent. Investment in infrastructure goes hand in hand with increase in employee strength. “I would see this as a forerunner to our campus that is coming up in Trivandrum,”he said.
Mr Alexander Varghese, India Head of UST Global, said, “With our third, state-of-the-art facility becoming operational, UST Global is poised for a huge growth at Kochi.” The availability of a large talent pool of experienced and fresh talent, both in IT and BPO, makes Kochi a strategic location for UST.
The expansion will elevate the Kochi centre from a spoke to hub in UST's hub-and-spoke model, enabling to grow further to other smaller locations around Kochi, Mr Sunil Balakrishnan, Kochi Center Head for UST Global, said.
UST Global is also building a new flagship campus in the Thiruvananthapuram special economic zone, the first phase of which is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. Once operational, this 3.6-million-sq.-ft campus shall be a major hub for offshore IT services offered by the organisation, he said.
