Vodafone Idea has completed the consolidation of its radio network integration in rest of West Bengal (ROWB) by December 2018.

With this, ROWB becomes the first eight circles to complete integration. The circle integration, which started in November, was completed within a very short span of just two months, the company said in a statement.

Vodafone Idea coverage is now available across 878 towns and 37,585 villages in ROWB covering 97 per cent area. The operator’s 4G coverage has expanded to over 78 per cent population in the region covering 27 districts including 838 towns in the region, for customers of both brands, it said.

“The consolidation of network in ROWB will enable over 2.18 crore customers of Vodafone and Idea to enjoy a unified network experience on 2G, 3G and 4G. This will also benefit 78 lakh customers of Kolkata as well while they roam around Bengal. We are deploying new age technologies to enhance customer experience as we are building a robust, future ready network in Kolkata & WB,” Shivan Bhargava, Business Head, ROWB at Vodafone Idea said.

In other circles, network integration is taking place on a cluster-by-cluster basis and the subscribers of both Idea and Vodafone brands are gradually moving to a much larger and better network experience.
