Vodafone India is offering 67 per cent more data to users on existing packs, a move the operator believes will make Internet more affordable and encourage first time users to come online.

“With Vodafone Delights offering more data, we want our several million customers to enjoy this network experience to the fullest. We are democratising data by making it more affordable and accessible,” said Sandeep Kataria, Director-Commercial at Vodafone India.

“This is key to drive usage and encouraging first time users to come online,” he said, adding that this will facilitate faster adoption of data and its better usage.

Under the revised data benefits, the 3GB 3G and 4G monthly recharge pack, which was earlier priced at about Rs 650, will now offer 5 GB data, a 67 per cent rise in data. Similarly, the Rs 449 3G and 4G pack will now provide 50 per cent more data by increasing the data benefit to 3 GB from 2 GB.

The Rs 999 3G and 4G pack will now offer 10 GB data, offering 54 per cent more benefits, the company said in a statement.

The Rs 39 2G sachet pack with 5-day validity now offers 225MB data versus the earlier 160 MB, a 41 per cent increase, while the Rs 12 3G and 4G sachet pack with 1-day validity now offers 50 MB data versus 30 MB, an increase of 67 per cent.
