Vodafone's Chennai network was down on Friday. This has happened on the heels of issues with the Airtel network on Thursday . Sources in the telecom industry said the issue could be because of Home Location Register (HLR) switch issue.
A tweet from Vodafone said: "Hi! This is a temporary issue and we are working on it. You will be able to use our services as soon as it is resolved"
The issue seems to have been affecting users only in some parts of Chennai. Users in T Nagar and Anna Nagar said the network was up in their areas.
In a statement later in the day, Vodafone said, "There was a technical snag that affected certain parts of Tamil Nadu, leading to an intermittent disruption in network connectivity for a short period of time. Our network team managed to resolve the problem and restored normalcy immediately."
