Vodafone has raised ₹7,500 crore through a bond issue. This is first time the telecom operator is raising funds using rupee-denominated bonds. The bond issue has a maturity of five years and a coupon rate of around 10.5 per cent. The company has had significant payouts this year including the money it has paid for renewing its spectrum rights during the recent auction. The company had also sold its minority stake in Bharti Enterprise recently to raise $200 million. The company is also gearing up for an Initial Public Offering.
