WidasConcepts, a German IT company has earmarked $2.5 million investment in its India operations.
WidasConcepts India will provide the technology framework for companies wanting to make use of Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT). The India operations will have a staff of around 50, and will focus on developing technologies for automotive and healthcare clients, company executives said.
Thomas Widmann, CEO - Global at WidasConcepts said, "With India growing in the adoption of digital technologies, we see this market growing among the fastest in the world. There is a need to customize technology solutions for the Indian demands where we see a lot of business potential. This will mean that the best practices of our global centers will be replicated such that core products and technologies are done here and will leverage the innovations built in India."
Big Data market is among the fastest growing segments in the world with 83 per cent year-on-year growth rate and the current estimated market size of $1 billion 2015, according to market research.
According to Vishwa Kiran, CEO - India at WidasConcepts, the company sees potential for its Big Data and IoT expertise in India and nearby English speaking regions such as Middle East, Singapore and South East Asia.
