An Indian BPO company today announced to invest $4.25 million in South Carolina for setting up its first facility in the US, promising to create 750 jobs in the state governed by Indian-American Nikki Haley.
Ms Haley termed the announcement by Mumbai-headquartered WNS Global Services of opening its new delivery centre located in Columbia, South Carolina, as a “big win” for her state.
“WNS's decision to launch its first US delivery center in our state signifies a big win for the State of South Carolina,” she said.
The centre, with a capacity of 300 seats, is expected to serve the company's US-based clients. Mr Keshav Murugesh, Group CEO of WNS, said this new centre will enable them to partner more closely with US-based clients and offer services that are strategic and higher-end in nature.
WNS has more than 23,000 employees at 25 centres worldwide. It has more than 200 global clients.
