Chinese phone-maker Oppo’s sub-brand, Realme launched its latest phone for the budget segment, the Realme 3, here on Monday. The phone will come in two variants — 3 GB RAM with 32 GB memory for ₹8,999, and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB memory at ₹10,999. The phone will sell exclusively on Flipkart (apart from Realme’s website) and will be available from March 12. The company claimed to have sold five million units of its smartphones over the past 10 months.
“Recently, we were awarded ‘No. 1 Quality Smartphone Brand’ by CMR Mobile Industry Consumer Insight Survey. The launch of Realme 3 will help us strengthen our position,” said Madhav Sheth, CEO, Realme India.
The Realme 3 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 processor and is powered by a 4,230 mAh battery. Kuldeep Malik, Director, Corporate Sales for MediaTek India, said that the P70 is one of the most powerful chips in the P series. “It represents significant optimisation and AI-enabled powerful performance, designed with stronger camera module support, while consuming low power,” he claimed.
Realme also claimed the phone is the first in its segment to come with f/1.8 aperture and a Nightscape mode to get better image quality.
