Encouraging customer response for its Mi Home stores, leading technology company Xiaomi plans to open 100 such exclusive offline retail outlets across the country in the next two years.

Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai have been identified for opening the store in the initial phase within the next few months. The first Mi Home store opened in Bengaluru last month had witnessed a record breaking Rs 5 crore sale within the 12 hours of sales on the first day, said Manu Jain, Managing Director, Xiaomi India.

These stores represents Xiaomi's “internet + new retail approach” – combining the internet efficiency of e-commerce with the service and user experience of offline retail, he said.

He was in Kochi to announce the launch of the company's smartphone series Redmi 4 A, Redmi 4 and the Mi Router 3 C in the Kerala market.

The company, according to him, has also lined up its plans to take the number of service centres to 500 by next month from the present 225 as well as enhancing the supply of spare parts by opening smaller warehouses.
