Chitra Ramkrishna, who is being replaced by Vikram Limaye, made a cool ₹44 crore in a little over three years as MD and CEO of the NSE.
According to NSE’s recent annual report, which came out last week, Ramkrishna earned around ₹18 crore as remuneration in her last eight months in office before resigning on December 2, 2016.
The report shows that Ramkrishna’s salary more than doubled in 2016 from her previous years’ package of around ₹9 crore. In comparison, Limaye has been offered a package of around ₹4-6 crore, somewhat similar to Ramkrishna’s pay in 2013 when she took charge as MD and CEO, a source close to the exchange said.
NSE’s annual report shows Ramkrishna’s total remuneration when she quit the job stood at around ₹23 crore, including variable pay, leave encashment, travel allowance and medical, but excluding 50 per cent variable pay of ₹1.58 crore to be paid on deferred basis after three years.
