In all, 89 per cent of 9.11 lakh kg offered for Sale No: 50 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold with the average prices remaining at nine-month high of ₹105.86 a kg, up from last week’s ₹104.66. Homedale Estate’s Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Dust grade and the entire CTC market when Antony Tea Traders bought it for ₹235 per kg. Vigneshwar Speciality’s Pekoe Dust, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, followed at ₹225. In the CTC Leaf tea auction, Homedale Estate’s Broken Orange Pekoe, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹194. In the orthodox market, Chamraj topped at ₹247 a kg, followed by Kairbetta ₹238, Kodanad and Havukal ₹226 each.
