Refined palmolein prices firmed up on the oil and oilseeds market on Saturday on fresh buying support from retailers and stockists.

Castorseed bold and castor oil commercial dropped on lack of enquiries from shippers and soap manufacturers. Castorseed futures also declined on lower export orders amid bearish spot market. Groundnut oil and linseed oil both closed unchanged in the absence of market moving factors.

Refined palmolein rose by Rs 7 for 10 kg to Rs 575. Groundnut oil, however, closed unaltered at Rs 840 for 10 kg.

Castorseed bold fell by Rs 45 for 100 kg to Rs 5,150. Castor oil commercial drifted lower by Rs 9 for 10 kg to Rs 1,060.

Linseed oil closed unchanged at Rs 650 for 10 kg.

Castorseed for June delivery resumed lower at Rs 4,918 and dropped further to Rs 4,880 and closed at Rs 4,897, a loss of Rs 49 a tonne.

Maize weak

New Delhi: Maize prices fell in the wholesale grains market on Saturday on lack of buying support against adequate stocks position in the market.

Traders said lack of buying support against sufficient stocks position led to the fall in maize prices.

Maize weakened by Rs 10 to Rs 1,350-1,360 a quintal.

Masoor small and bold prices gained Rs 50 each to Rs 3,100-3,300 and Rs 3,250-3,500 respectively.

Its dal local and best quality traded higher by the same margin to Rs 3,650-3,750 and Rs 3,950-4,250 a quintal respectively. Moth declined by Rs 100 to Rs 2,100-2,400 a quintal.
