Cardamom prices gained Rs 5.40 to Rs 1,343 per kg at the futures trade today, supported by rising demand at the spot market against restricted arrivals from the producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for March contract gained Rs 5.40 or 0.4 per cent to Rs 1,343.00 per kg with a business volume of single lot.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April edged up by Rs 3.70 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 1,380 per kg in one lot, with an open interest of one lot.
Market analysts said rising demand and the ongoing marriage season led to the decline in cardamom prices at the futures trade.
