Cashew prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital on Saturday largely on the back of buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.

Tight supplies from growing regions also supported the rise in prices. Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 800-910, Rs 750-810 Rs 600-660 and Rs 550-610 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against tight supplies from growing regions, mainly pushed up cashew prices to rise.

The following are today’s quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 16,100 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,900-8,300; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,600-5,100; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.
