Chana prices dropped by Rs 30 to Rs 2,393 per quintal at the futures trade today on sluggish demand against increased arrivals from the producing belts in the physical market.
New crop arrivals also put pressure on the futures trade.
At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May dropped by Rs 30 or 1.24 per cent to Rs 2,393 per quintal with an open interest of 75,370 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in April declined by Rs 28 or 1.18 per cent to Rs 2,349 per quintal with a business volume of 1,08,700 lots.
Analysts said adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from the producing regions against sluggish demand, mainly led to the drop in chana futures prices.
