The rally in chana (gram) came to a halt on Friday with a drop demand at higher rates. Chana (kanta) declined to Rs 4,050-75 a quintal (Rs 4100-Rs 4125). Similarly, chana (desi) slipped to Rs 3,900 (Rs 4,000-Rs 4025).

With speculators taking over, chana (kanta) prices had soared to Rs 4,200 a quintal on Thursday morning before declining to Rs 4,125 in the evening as millers withdrew from the market.

The decline in spot chana also dragged dal prices. Chana dal (average) dropped to Rs 4,800-4,825 a quintal (Rs 4,875-4,900).Masoor fell by Rs 75-100 a quintal with demand waning. In the spot, masoor (bold) slipped to Rs 3,425-50 a quintal as millers kept off from the market.

Similarly, masoor dal prices slipped with masoor dal (average) being quoted at Rs 3,900-3,925 (Rs 3,900-3,950), masoor dal (medium) ruled at Rs 3,975-4,000 a quintal (Rs 4,000-4,025), while masoor dal (bold) ruled at Rs 4,150-75 (Rs 4,150-4,200).

Moong and its dal ruled stable on subdued buying support. In the spot, moong (bold) ruled stable at Rs 4,200-4,400 a quintal, while moong (medium) ruled at Rs 3,600-3,800 a quintal.

Moong dal also ruled stable even as demand in pulses remained weak. In the spot, moong dal (average) ruled at Rs 5,000-5,100, while moong dal (bold) ruled at Rs 5,600-5,650 a quintal and moong mongar quoted at Rs 5,200-5,500 a quintal.
