Copper prices rose by 0.29 per cent to Rs 417.95 a kg in futures trade today on the back of a rebound in entire base metals pack overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April rose by Rs 1.15 or 0.29 per cent to Rs 417.95 a kg, with a business turnover of 8,471 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in June gained Rs 1.15, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 425 a kg with a business turnover of 3,977 lots.
Market analysts said recovery in prices at futures trade was mostly due to a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange as a weaker dollar spurred buying in commodities including metals.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month-delivery rose by 2.1 per cent to $9,515 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
