Cotton prices ruled unchanged on sluggish demand. Kapas or raw cotton also traded flat as demand for gin was limited. According to traders, buying interest declined in the market as there was no big business.
Traders said that cotton season is at its end so buyers will buy hand-to-mouth. Cotton prices may rule at this level next week. Best quality Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton traded at ₹39,000-₹40,000 for candy of 356 kg. B grade cotton stood at ₹37,000-₹38,000 and lower cotton was at ₹33,000-₹35,000.
About 3,000-4,000 bales of cotton arrived in Gujarat and 7,000-8,000 bales across the country. Kapas was traded at ₹850,-1030 for a maund of 20 kg in various mandis of Gujarat. Gin delivery kapas stood at ₹1,010-₹1,020a maund .
