Jeera prices, in futures and spot market, gained on the back of strong export demand.

On the NCDEX, jeera November contract gained ₹75 at ₹11,450 a quintal with an open interest of 4,677 lots, while the December series was up ₹55 to ₹11,535. The spice moved up by ₹15-20 to ₹1,800-2,100 for a maund of 20 kg in Unjha and it was traded up by ₹15 to ₹1,750-1,950 in Rajkot.

A Kedia Commodity report said that jeera prices looks to remain firm in the near term looking to good overseas demand whereas the sowing progress in coming weeks would be important.
