Freight rates for 10 tonne load to select destinations dropped by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following less cargo movement amid heavy truck position.
Transporters said fall in cargo movements due to Holi festival against excess availability of truck operators mainly reduced the freight rates.
Delhi to Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata freight rates shed Rs 1,000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 41,000 and Rs 24,000, respectively.
Coimbatore, Kochi and Goa rates also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 49,000, Rs 54,000 and Rs 35,000, respectively.
Patna, Thiruvananthapuram and Pune rates also declined by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 23,000.
Following are the rates in Rs for load of 10 tonne: Ahmedabad 14,000, Hyderabad 33,000, Mumbai 20,000, Vijayawada 35,000, Baroda 16,000, Chennai 41,000, Pune 23,000, Bangalore 44,000, Surat 18,000, Mysore 47,000, Kanpur 12,500, Puducherry 43,000, Kolkata 24,000, Coimbatore 49,000, Ludhiana 13,500, Kochi 54,000, Chandigarh 11,000, Thiruvananthapuram 60,000, Jaipur 10,000, Goa 35,000, Indore 14,000, Gwalior 8,500, Patna 20,000 and Guwahati 38,000.
