Freight rates in ten tonne pay load section dropped by Rs 1,000 for select centres today amid reduced cargo movement.
Transporters said fall in arrivals of cargo and easy availability of trucks largely pulled down freight rates at some centres.
Delhi to Kolkata and Mumbai freights slipped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 25,000 and Rs 23,000. Rates to Baroda and Surat declined by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 18,000 and Rs 19,000. Patna and Pune rates also quoted lower by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 20,000 and Rs 27,000.
Following are the rates for load of 10 tonne: Ahmedabad 16,000, Hyderabad 36,000, Mumbai 23,000, Vijayawada 39,000, Baroda 18,000, Chennai 51,000, Pune 27,000, Bangalore 53,000, Surat 19,000, Mysore 56,000, Kanpur 15,000, Puducherry 54,000, Kolkata 25,000, Coimbatore 59,000, Ludhiana 13,000, Kochi 62,000, Chandigarh 11,000, Thiruvananthapuram 66,000, Jaipur 10,000, Goa 38,000, Indore 12,000, Gwalior 10,000, Patna 20,000 and Guwahati 40,000.
