Groundnut oil prices moved up further on the oil and oilseeds market on Saturday due to sustained demand from retailers coupled with poor supplies from key producing centres.
Groundnut oil improved by Rs 5 for 10 kg to Rs 835 and refined palmolein also looked up by Rs 5 for 10 kg to Rs 566. Linseed oil moved up by Rs 5 for 10 kg to Rs 635. Castorseed bold and castor oil commercial both closed unaltered at Rs 5,220 and Rs 1,074 respectively. Castorseeds for June delivery resumed higher at Rs 5,000 and rose further to close at Rs 5,085, a sharp rise of Rs 135 a tonne.
Maize declines
New Delhi: Maize prices declined in a steady wholesale grains market on sluggish demand against adequate stocks. However, rice basmati common showed some strength on fresh demand.
Maize declined by Rs 10 to Rs 1,380-1,390 a quintal. Rice basmati common quality traded Rs 50 higher at Rs 5,650-5,750 a quintal.
Urad shed Rs 100 to Rs 3,950-4,350, while its dal chilka local and best quality traded lower by the same margin to Rs 4,850-5,250 and Rs 5,350-5,850 respectively. Dhoya lost Rs 200 to Rs 5,300-5,400 a quintal.
