Groundnut oil ruled unchanged on the first trading session after Diwali holidays. Demand for edible oil in the market was slow as prices are high. A similar trend was seen in cottonseed oil. Groundnut oil (loose) quoted at ₹835-840 per 10 kg, Jamnagar line teliya tin was traded at ₹1,465-1,470 per 15 kg. Groundnut oil new tin quoted at ₹1,465-1,470 per 15 kg. About 5-7 tankers of groundnut oil traded in Saurashtra’s mills. On the other side, millers said that price may drop due to slow demand but it will not go down much as this year’s availability of groundnut for crushing is lower. According to Saurashtra Oil Mills Association projection, groundnut production in India will be around 2.50 lakh tonnes. Washed cottonseed oil was traded at ₹590-593 per 10 kg and new tin was stood at ₹1,060-1,080 per 15 kg. About 25-30 tankers of cotton oil were traded here.
