As export and domestic demand waned, offloading of positions by speculators against adequate stocks position kept jeera prices lower in the futures market. Spot price, however, remained almost stable. NCDEX, jeera August contracts were down ₹35 to ₹11,410 a quintal with an open interest of 6,003 lots. NCDEX September contracts lost ₹45 to ₹11,675 with an open interest of 3,435 lots. About 7,000 bags of jeera arrived at Unjha mandi of Gujarat and went for ₹1,900-2,225 for a maund of 20 kg. About 900 bags arrived in Rajkot and price was ₹1,850-2,075. Exporters are waiting for some dips in prices before initiating fresh demand for the spice.
