Jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued domestic and overseas demand amid higher output concerns.
Weak trends at the futures market and lower advices from the producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
Jeera common and best quality fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 15,100-15,200 and Rs 17,100-17,600 per quintal.
Market analysts said fall in demand from local parties and stockists in tandem with hopes of higher output, mainly pulled down jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are the quotations in Rs per quintal:
Ajwain 16,000-22,000, black pepper common 24,200-24,400, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 980-1,000 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,250.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 890-950, cardamom (colour robin) 930-950, cardamom bold 940-950, cardamom extra (bold) 1,120-1,140 and cloves (kg) 530-585.
