Jeera prices rose by Rs 122 to Rs 14,600 per quintal in futures trade today following a rise in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in September month rose by Rs 122 or 0.84 per cent to Rs 14,600 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,944 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July gained Rs 90 or 0.65 per cent to Rs 13,900 per quintal in 17,634 lots.
Analysts said fresh buying by speculators on pick-up in spot market demand helped jeera prices to rise at futures trade. However, weak exports limited the gains.
