Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 9.30 to Rs 872 a kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking, driven by a subdued demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June month contract declined by Rs 9.30 or 1.05 per cent to Rs 872 a kg in a business volume of 14 lots.
Similarly, the delivery for April month contract eased by Rs 7.60 or 0.72 per cent to Rs 1,039.50 a kg in a business turnover of 111 lots, while May month contract fell by Rs 4.50 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 983.80 a kg in a business volume of 27 lots.
The fall in oil prices was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand, traders said.
