Mentha oil prices declined by Rs 8.10 to Rs 845 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-taking amid fall in demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 8.10 or 0.95 per cent to Rs 845 per kg with a business turnover of 203 lots. Likewise, June contract traded lower by Rs 8.10 or 0.94 per cent to Rs 850.30 per kg in 482 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-taking by speculators, fall in spot market demand led to the decline in mentha oil futures prices. Increased arrivals in the physical market also put pressure on the prices.
