Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5.10 to Rs 1,180.50 a kg in futures market on Thursday, as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by rising local and exports demand.
Less arrivals in the physical market also influenced prices. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose Rs 5.10 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 1,180.50 a kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in January gained Rs 3.10 or 0.26 per cent to Rs 1,182.40 a kg, with a business volume of single lot.
Marketmen said increased buying by speculators following rising domestic and exports demand against less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, helped prices to trade higher at futures trade.
