A delay in monsoon and decline in arrival of seeds boosted mustard oil prices r in mandis across Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday, mustard oil in Indore mandis ruled at ₹647/quintal (up ₹2 from last week), while in Neemuch and Morena, it ruled at ₹640 and ₹650 respectively (up ₹3 from last week).
In Rajasthan mandis however, mustard oil has been trading low compared to its prices last week despite weak arrival. In Kota, mustard oil on Thursday ruled at ₹640 (down ₹5 from last week), while in Ganga Nagar and Jaipur, it also ruled ₹5 lower from its prices last week at ₹645 and ₹655 respectively. In Gujarat, on the other hand, mustard oil has gained ₹10 from last week at ₹635 with demand outstripping arrivals.
Plant deliveries of mustard oil for Jaipur line on Thursday ruled at ₹3,560-65 a quintal ( unchanged from last week).
Mustard which had been ruling flat in Indore mandis for the past some time however, have gained ₹100-₹150 from last week at ₹4,200-₹4,250 a quintal. Similarly, raida also gained ₹100 at ₹3,000-₹3,100 a quintal.
Arrival of mustard in the country on Thursday declined to 1.5 lakh bags (1.85 lakh bags last week) with Rajasthan leading with 75,000 bags, followed by Gujarat with 20,000, Punjab/Haryana - 17,000, UP - 15,000, MP - 13,000, while other mandis in the country recorded an arrival of 10,000 bags respectively.
