Potato prices declined by Rs 1.30 to Rs 492.90 a quintal in futures trading on Monday owing to sluggish demand against adequate stocks position in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in July declined by Rs 1.30, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 492.90 a quintal, with a business turnover of 50 lots.
The potato for delivery in August also traded lower by 60 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 455 a quintal in 38 lots.
Market analysts said sluggish demand against adequate stocks position mainly led to fall in potato prices at futures trade.
