Rice basmati and other grains prices drifted in the wholesale grains market on Saturday due to sluggish demand.

Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing belts also put some pressure on the commodity prices.

Trade analysts said subdued demand against comfortable stocks mainly led to the fall in wholesale rice basmati and other grain prices.

In the national capital, rice basmati (Pusa—1121 variety) declined by Rs 100 to Rs 4,000—5,000 per quintal.

Barley prices fell by Rs 25 and maize prices by Rs 15 to Rs 1,250—1,275 and Rs 1,200—1,210 per quintal, respectively.
