Silver prices fell 0.21 per cent to Rs 37,238 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators indulged in offloading even as the metal strengthened overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March next year lost Rs 77 or 0.21 per cent to Rs 37,238 per kg with a turnover of 369 lots.

Also, the white metal for delivery in far-month May was trading down by Rs 65 or 0.17 per cent at Rs 37,875 per kg in a business volume of eight lots.

Market participants said the fall in silver futures was mostly due to off-loading of positions by participants even as the white metal strengthened in global market.

Meanwhile, in Singapore, silver rose 0.50 per cent to $16.14 an ounce.
