Slack demand dragged prices of almost all pulses in Indore mandis on Tuesday. Chana continued to trade low on slack demand and higher arrivals with prices of chana (kanta) in local mandis being quoted at ₹2,850-2,900 a quintal, while chana (desi) ruled at ₹2,600. Notwithstanding report of decline in sowing area, bullish trend appears unlikely given adequate stock of imported and domestic chana with the stockists, said Sanjay Agrawal, a local chana trader. Chana dal (average) was being quoted at ₹2,950-3,100, chana dal (medium) at ₹3,400-3,500, while chana dal (bold) was quoted at ₹3,600-3,800. Weak demand also dragged dollar chana with its prices at ₹4,000-4,800. In container also, dollar chana traded low on slack export demand with 42/44 count being quoted at ₹5,300-25, 44/46 count ₹5,100-25, 58/60 count ruled at ₹4,300-25, while dollar chana 60/62 count was quoted at ₹4,000-25.
