Prices of most of the commodities remained steady while that of sugar declined marginally during the week under review at the wholesale foodgrains market here.

Tur dal, which opened at its last week’s closing rate of Rs 5,700 per quintal on Monday, declined by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 5,600 on Wednesday. It maintained the same rate up to Friday, before closing at Rs 5,700 today.

Likewise, urad dal started the week at Rs 6,200 per quintal and moved down to Rs 6,000 on Wednesday, before closing at Rs 6,200.

Sugar moved down marginally from its previous week’s close of Rs 2,890 per quintal to finish at Rs 2,850, showing a loss of Rs 40.

However, all other commodities, moong dal (Rs 6,200), gram dal (Rs 3,700), wheat (Rs 1,750), maida 90 kg (Rs 1,750) and sooji 90 kg (Rs 1,850) ruled steady throughout the week.
