Pepper prices dropped on Monday following rumours of increased availability in the coming days. Consequently, spot prices declined further by ₹1,000 a quintal. No activities were reported from the national and regional exchanges. . On the spot, 17 tonnes of pepper were traded at ₹670-680-690 a kg. Buyers were quoting ₹660 for pepper from the plains. Spot prices dropped further by ₹1,000 to ₹66,000 (ungarbled) and ₹68,000 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices too declined to $11,500 c&f for Europe and $11,750 a tonne c&f for the US.
