Turmeric futures weakened by Rs 90 to Rs 9,302 a quintal today, owing to slackness in demand in the spot market against increased arrivals of new season crop.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in June weakened by Rs 90 or 0.96 per cent to Rs 9,302 a quintal, with an open interest of 2,720 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in May lost Rs 42 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 9,362 a quintal, with a trade volume of 5,170 lots.
Analysts said rising supplies of the new crop, amid subdued spot demand mainly led to the decline in prices.
