Trading continued to be cautious in the edible oils market tracking weak futures and progressing monsoon rains in most producing States. But a weak rupee which will make imports costly arrested sharp fall. Soyabean, sunflower and rapeseed refined oil declined by ₹1/2 each on the spot, while palmolein remained unchanged. Bearish reports and increased selling pressure in Saurashtra made groundnut oil cheaper by ₹20 there and ₹15/10 kg in Mumbai.

Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹571, super palmolein ₹591 and soyabean refined oil ₹645. Ruchi was quoting palmolein at ₹568, soyabean refined oil ₹641, sunflower refined oil ₹641. In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut telia tin declined by ₹35 to ₹1,205 and loose (10 kg) by ₹20 to ₹770. BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 785 (800), soya refined oil 644 (645), sunflower exp. ref. 588(588), sunflower ref. 648 (650), rapeseed ref. oil 725 (726), rapeseed expeller ref. 695 (696) cottonseed ref. oil 660 (660) and palmolein 568 (568).
