The auctions of Coonoor Trade Association for calendar 2016 have ended on happy note. The average prices rose to 10-month high level of ₹107.55. Prices were above this at ₹110.20 only on February 19. Despite this, 95 per cent of the offer was sold due to increased demand from upcountry markets. Homedale Estate’s Pekoe Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Dust Tea auction and the entire CTC market at ₹239 per kg. In the CTC Leaf tea market, Homedale Estate’s Broken Pekoe topped at ₹221. In the orthodox market, Chamraj topped at ₹247/kg.
